PRAYER

TO COMMENCE THE ROSARY WITH A HONEST MIND AND HEART

Oh my God, from all my heart I am sorry for all my sins, and I detest them, not only because in sinning, I deserve the penalties that you have justly established, but especially because I have offended Thee, who art the greatest good, and worthy beyond all my love. Therefore I firmly purpose, with the help of Thy grace, from henceforth to sin no more and flee the next occasions of sinning.

Amen

Deus meus, ex toto corde poenitet me omnium meorum peccatorum, eaque detestor, quia peccando, non solum poenas a Te iuste statutas promeritus sum, sed praesertim quia offendi Te, summum bonum, ac dignum qui super omnia diligaris. Ideo firmiter propono, adiuvante gratia Tua, de cetero me non peccaturum peccandique occasiones proximas fugiturum.

Amen

I confess to Almighty God, to Blessed Mary ever Virgin,

to Blessed Michael the Archangel, to Blessed John the Baptist,

to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and all the Saints,

and to you, father, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word, deed:

through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault,

therefore I beseech Blessed Mary ever Virgin,

Blessed Michael the Archangel, Blessed John the Baptist,

the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, all the Saints, and you father,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Amen

Ideo precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem, beatum Michaelem Archangelum,

O blessed Joseph,

Defend, O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family,

the chosen off-spring of Jesus Christ.

Keep from us, O most loving Father,

all blight of error and corruption.

Aid us from on high, most valiant defender,

in this conflict with the powers of darkness.

And even as of old thou didst rescue the Child Jesus

from the peril of His life,

so now defend God's Holy Church

from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity.

Shield us ever under thy patronage, that, following thine example

and strengthened by thy help,

we may live a holy life,

die a happy death,

and attain to everlasting bliss in Heaven.

Amen

Original prayer: Leo XIII, Quamquam Pluries. 15 aug. 1889.

Oh, St. Joseph,

whose protection is so great, so prompt, so strong,

before the throne of God,

I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh, St. Joseph,

do assist me by your powerful intercession,

and obtain for me from your Divine Son

all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power,

I may offer my thanksgiving and homage

to the most Loving of Fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph,

I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms;

I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.

Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me and

Ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.

St. Joseph, Patron of departed souls – pray for me.

St. Joseph, Patron of Universal Church – pray for us.

Amen

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
By St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee.

I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.
I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants.

Amen

Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
By St. Maximilian Kolbe

O Immaculata, Queen of heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you. I, (Name…), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases you. If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: “She will crush your head,” and, “You alone have destroyed all heresies in the world.” Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed kingdom of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever you enter you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

V.   Allow me to praise you, O sacred Virgin.
R. Give me strength against your enemies.

Amen

Act of Consecration to the Chaste Heart of St. Joseph

O Glorious Patriarch and Patron of the Catholic Church! O Virgin Spouse of God, and guardian and foster father of the Incarnate Word! In the presence of Jesus and Mary, I choose thee this day to be my guardian and father.

O thou whom God has constituted Head of the Holy Family, accept me, I beseech thee, though utterly unworthy, to be a poor little servant in thy holy house. Present me to thy Immaculate Spouse, ask her also to accept me as a servant and to adopt me as a child. With her, teach me, thou who art a master of the interior life, how to converse constantly with Jesus and how to serve Him faithfully in all things to the end of my life.

To thy custody was committed the Living Bread of Heaven, to be dispensed to thy starving brethren. O, with Mary help me to prepare the poor stable of my heart to receive, worthily and often, the Bread of my salvation. Let me receive it from thy hands and from those of Mary, as often as I approach the Holy Table.

O my tender and watchful father, I hereby consecrate myself to thee; and I firmly purpose and resolve never to leave thee, and never to say or do anything, nor to suffer anyone under my charge to say or do anything, against thy honor! O thou head of the house of God upon earth, in faithful imitation of Jesus and Mary, I place myself and all my concerns under thy care and protection. To thee, after Jesus and Mary, I consecrate my body and soul with all their faculties, my spiritual progress, my home, and all my affairs and undertakings.

Forsake me not, but adopt me as a servant and a child of the Holy Family. Watch over me at all times, but especially in the last awful hour of my life on earth: then visit, console, and strengthen me with Jesus and Mary, that with them and thee I may sing the praises of the adorable Trinity for all eternity.

Amen

Each Mystery or Scripture, is to remembering Christ and his life.

Our Lady said in her apparition dec. 10, 1925:

"keep me company for 15 minutes while meditating on the mysteries of the rosary"

This is just the full Rosary but rather the mysteries. Try to meditate 2 minutes at each Mystery

of what it means to us and our Mother Church today.

Announce the 1st Sorrowful mystery

The Agony of Jesus in the Garden        (Mark 14:32-42)

(We do the Sign of the Cross      Faith,   Hope   and   Love    which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

They come to a place, which is named Gethsemane; and he says to his disciples:

Sit here till I pray.

He took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be distressed and in anguish, and said to them:

My soul is encompassed with sorrow even to death: remain here and keep watch.

And going forward a little he fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it was possible, the hour might pass away from him; and he said:

Abba, Father, all things are possible for thee; remove this cup from me: yet not what I will, but what thou want.

He returned and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter:

Simon, sleepest thou? hadst thou not strength to watch one hour? Watch and pray, pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

And again, he went away and prayed, saying the same words.

And, when he returned, he found them sleeping again; for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what to answer him.

He comes back the third time and says to them:

Sleep the remaining time, and rest?

it is enough; the hour has come:

Behold, the Son of man is delivered into the hands of sinners.

Rise, let us go:

Behold, he that delivers me up - is at hand.

Jesus Before Pilate     (Mark 15:1-15, Matt 27:17, 19, 21, 24-26)

(We do the Sign of the Cross      Faith,   Hope   and   love    which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

1And immediately in the morning, the chief priests holding consultation, with the elders and the scribes, and the whole Council. They bound Jesus and led him away and delivered him to Pilate.

2And Pilate asked him: Art thou the King of the Jews?

And Jesus answered and said to him: Thou sayest.

3And the chief priests accused him of many things. 4Pilate again asked him:

Answerest thou nothing? See of how many things they accuse thee,

5But Jesus no longer answered any thing: so that Pilate wondered.

6At every feast Pilate released to them one prisoner whom they chose. 7And there was one called Barabbas who was put in prison with some seditious men, who in the insurrection had committed murder. 8The multitude then came and began to ask Pilate to do for them according to his custom. 17Pilate said to them:

Whom will you that I release to you, Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?

19And while he sat on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying: Have nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered much this day in a dream because of him.

20The chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd that they should ask for Barabbas, and to have Jesus destroyed.

21And the governor said to them: Which of the two will you that I release to you?

They said: Barabbas.

22Pilate says to them: What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?

They say all: Let him be crucified.

But he said: Why, what evil has he done?

They cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified.

11The chief priests instigated the crowd that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12And Pilate again answered and said to them:

What then will you that I shall do with him whom you call King of the Jews?

13They again cried out: Crucify him.

14But Pilate said to them: Why, what evil has he done?

But they cried out vehemently: Crucify him.

24And Pilate seeing that nothing avails, but rather that a tumult is rising, took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying:

I am innocent of the blood of this man: see you to it.

Detail: La Condanna a Morte, Jacques da Callot, ca. 1625.. Princely Collection. Used with Permission.

15And so Pilate, willing to satisfy the multitude, released Barabbas, and handed over Jesus, after he had scourged him, to be crucified.

Jesus Carried the Cross       (Joh 19-16, Luk 23:26-33)

(We do the Sign of the Cross      Faith,   Hope   and   Love     which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

16Then therefore Pilate delivered Jesus to the Chief Priests to be crucified.

26And as they led him away, they lay hold on Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the country, they laid the cross on him, that he might bear it after Jesus.

17…And bearing the cross, he went forth to that place called Calvary, or in Hebrew called Golgotha.

Detail: Arrmengaud,  nach Raphael, 1866. Private Collection. Used with Permission.

27And there followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women that bewailed and lamented him.

28But Jesus turned to them and said:

Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me; but weep for yourselves and for your children; 29for behold, there are coming days in which they shall say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that did not give suck. 30Then shall they begin to say to the mountains: Fall on us, and to the hills: Cover us; 31for if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

32And there were also two others, two evildoers, to be crucified with Jesus.

18… they crucified him, and with him two others,

one on each side, and Jesus in the midst.

Announce the 5th Sorrowful mystery

The Crucifixion of Jesus        (Luk 23:33-46, Mark 15:31-32, Matt 27:35-512)

(We do the Sign of the Cross      Faith   Hope   and   Love    which both opens and closes the sequence of prayer)

33at the place, called Calvary, they crucified Jesus and the two evildoers, one on the right and the other on the left of Jesus.

34Jesus said: Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

The soldiers mocked him and were dividing his clothing among them, they cast lots.

35The people stood looking on; …

31In like manner also the chief priests deriding among themselves with the scribes said:

Others he saved, himself he cannot save. Christ the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe.

38there was also a superscription over him:

THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39And one of the evildoers who were hanged blasphemed him, saying:

If thou be Christ? save thyself and us.

40But the other, answering, rebuked him and said:

Do not even thou fear God, seeing that thou art in the same condemnation?

We indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of what we have done;

but this man has done nothing evil.

42Then he said: Jesus, remember me when thou come in thy kingdom.

43Jesus said to him:

Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in Paradise.

44 And it was almost the sixth hour; and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

46 And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said:

Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.

And saying this, he gave up the ghost.

45 And the sun was darkened,

and the veil of the temple was rent of two, from the top to the bottom,

in the midst as the earth quaked.

TOWARDS RESURREXION

Fidei defensor

Altera die vidit Joannes Jesum venientem ad se,

et ait:

Ecce agnus Dei,

ecce qui tollit peccatum mundi.

On the next day he sees Jesus coming to him,

and says:

Behold, the Lamb of God,

that takes away the sin of the world.

(Johannes 1:29)

Our Mother Church is larger

The Church is supernatural. It is not an organisation.

The Holy Mother Church is greater than the Pope, than the Cardinals or Bishops. They are all members of the Church.

Keep the Faith

This is the victory that overcomes the world, our Faith.

It is a Divine Faith, it is not a human Faith.

We do not leave the Church because the Church is our Mother.
